Software Turnitin given ability to detect ChatGPT
From Wednesday school and university students will find it harder to get away with using Artificial Intelligence systems such as ChatGPT to write their essays.
The developers of one of the programs used to detect plagiarism, Turnitin, says the software can now spot AI-generated material with 98 percent accuracy and it has switched on that ability for its New Zealand customers.
Academics say it will help, but not for long and not for students who know what they're doing.
